Honestly, their IVF coordinators are really not educated in how this works or the rules/regulations that should be discussed. I’m an RN and my partner is a PA and we still had plenty of unanswered medical questions. We were given poorly written email instructions for medication admin. We were given the WRONG information on which partner’s name to purchase sperm under.. despite calling two weeks prior and asking this exact question. My partner needed to go in for an HSG procedure and we were not given the right directions on arrival time or to take ibuprofen before the procedure. It has been messy and not professionally coordinated. Our doctor has been great but otherwise I’m not loving it. I understand all medical businesses are busy especially on Long Island, but some more transparency and communication with this intimate process would be ideal. My advice: Proceed with caution & stay on top of your procedures because they might not.
I went to RMA Melville for about 2.5 years starting in 2021. My doctor and all the staff were very kind. I ultimately switched after 4 failed rounds of IVF because of a misdiagnosis. I was told I had endometriosis and after testing saying I didn’t they still insisted. I got frustrated and got a second opinion. Turned out I had a blocked tube that may have been causing my miscarriages/preventing pregnancy. The test for the blocked tube (an HSG X-ray) for whatever reason wasn’t part of the conversation at RMA even though it wasn’t a rare of difficult test to get. Regardless of this one clinic if you’re having issues during your transfer cycle or are even trying naturally and keep miscarrying - I highly recommend looking into getting the HSG X-ray. I’ve heard it’s common that doctors at RMA just don’t look into it.
I had the most horrible experience with the Dr there don’t go here and wast your money. I had a fibro they were not able to diagnosed it I only had one day 6 embryo the dr the day of transfer was not able to transfer or they heard me a lot I asked him to stop he didn’t. He said he can’t. Also he know my age and he now’s I was over weight from day one after I asked him why did I fail my transfer he said us weight and age Please don’t go here I had a horrible experience from the billing, nurses and Dr.
This place is a factory. We went through 2 failed rounds of IVF with no modifications to our protocol. The doctor offered no insights or suggestions on what could be changed to improve our outcome. My wife and I are now under the care of Weil Cornell; a vastly better experience.Update: 9 viable embryos with Cornell/Goldschlag, only 1 with RMA in each of the 2 rounds we participated in. Skip the line, GO TO CORNELL!!!!
Staff seemed pretty friendly and attentive when I did my cycle there, however if youre having recurrent miscarriages dont bother... they only seem to treat you with very basic protocols, unfortunately this is a one size fits all practice.
Going Through IVF is stressful enough-- it is emotionally and physically exhausting. I can tell you that going to this location and seeing the staff has made my experience so much better. From the front desk Ashley, Maura and Nicole, to the nurses. ( I do not remember everyones names) I am greeted by name when I come in and always a smile.I am still unfortunately in the depths of IVF but I just wanted to give them a shout out because they have made the all the difference to me!
We just started using RMA and Dr. Dickens bur so far it is going really well. Struggling with getting pregnant is not a easy thing to gothrough. I felt that Dr. Dickens and her staff were very helpful and compassionate through our process so far. They made us very informed of our options and the next steps. They were very accommodating with scheduling. They were able to last minute squeeze me in for an exam. I definitely recommend. I am looking forward to what comes next.
I had the pleasure of having Dr. Carey Dicken as my fertility doctor. Dr. Dicken was amazing!. She was very knowledgeable, personable, and compassionate. I never felt rushed or just another number type of feeling. Due to a low ovarian count, I had very low expectations. After all said and done, Dr. Dicken got me pregnant on my first round! Anyone that is looking for a great doctor, she is the one! Also, the staff and nurses were amazing! I have nothing negative to say about this facility. Oneika (my nurse) and Jahmila (the front desk staff) were amazing! I also can not forget about Nicole Adams! Thank you for such a great experience!
I have really mixed feelings about this center. My doctor was incredibly nice and compassionate in our first meeting, 6 months ago... and then I never heard from him again. The nurses are very sweet and make you feel comfortable, but communication was rough. Call backs were often missed, I felt really unsure of the process and uneducated, and really stressed myself out being my own healthcare advocate. There is no personalized attention because its a very high-volume and busy practice. Not all of it was bad - but if you need more from your doctor (I wasnt even allowed to ask him questions and may times the nurses or techs didnt know the answers I needed) - this is not the right type of place. Im sure plenty of women have had success in family planning and a positive experience, but I didnt think a good job was done to dig deeper into my medical issues and there was a huge gap in communication a lot of the time, forcing me to make a decision to leave after 2 attempts at IUI.
My first experience with rma was very bad. The service was bad. I went to them a 2nd time because I had no choice or start over from the beginning and the experience from all the shots and the pp was very stressful. I went to another doctor which was much better but he said it would be best to do it because I had all those embryos there. And he asked the doctor to do 2 embryo because of my age. So now Im trying to do a transfer again and they are all about the money and not about how much stress the patient feel when they have to do this so many times. Im now please. I have Dr kreiner. Not please with them at all.
Dr. Dicken is a wonderful and caring doctor of great skill. Weve had more success working with her than other doctors weve seen over the last 3 years and have a healthy baby boy because of her hard work. We couldnt be more grateful to have met her.
I had a positive experience with LI IVF, Dr Peña, Jess, and the entire team were thorough and took their time to answer my many questions. The process was faster, due to the tests required, but they held my hand the entire way. We were extremely fortunate and ICSI worked giving us 2 healthy princesses . I want return to the office for one more baby and I’m sure I’ll have a positive experience again with dr Peña. We are very happy and thankful.. thank God for everything give me especially for our princesses!! Thanks Dr Peña for your excellent job.
This office is a joke! Do yourself a favor and go to caring practice that understands how important the situation is. First off, they force you to use there eggs from there egg bank. Karen will promise you a certain amount of eggs from a “lot” then say “I know I told you there were 8 eggs, but there are only 3, my bad”. Secondly, they will do blood work to make sure you do not have any diseases or disorders. When my results came back from the lab. I received a earth shattering phone call from Karen that I was HepatitisC positive, and that our “journey here is over”. Turns out, after about 2 primary doctors visits and 4 specialists visits (roughly $260 in co pays). And about 2 months of sleepless nights. The HepC diagnosis was a false positive. I could only imagine how much that would have been if I didn’t have insurance. Thirdly, a year after this ordeal finally ended, I still see bills in the mail from this office in regards to lab work! Which I was told by Chris in billing, would stop being sent. Every bill I get from this office is just another slap to the face. This office is run by heartless morons that shouldn’t be involved in a process as important as this! On a lighter note, my wife and I have had an amazing and successful experience with an office in Connecticut.
I drove here from MA back in 2012 to do embryo adoption. I got pregnant my 2nd time. I absolutely love this place! For anyone still struggling, I know how stressful and painful it is. Keep reminding yourself that embryo adoption is an option. I did 5 ICIs, 3 IUIs, 5 IVFs, & 2 embryo adoptions. I finally made it. Dont give up on your dream! We love our daughter just as if she were our biological one.
Oh man what a nice place, went for a consultation today and meet with Dr. Kreiner. He was a great guy very knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions. They took blood and the assistant was extremely kind and did a great job. Looking forward to working with them to accomplish my pregnancy goals!!
Dr. Dicken is amazing. I was so touched when she came for my ER even though she wasn’t on schedule for that day. She is helping me create a family. Bless her soul! ❤️
No one from the billing department at Melville calls me back or answers emails. I am getting billed for things I already paid for. I have been inquiring about a bill for one year now and still have not gotten any answer about that either.
This is my 2nd cycle and with DR.pena. Alexis, jess, melissa and the entire team is great. They are always on point and very caring about the patient. I love them 😍 try them you won’t regret.
Terrible. I can’t believe they charge you $25 for teaching and doing an injection for you during a IVF cycle. This is my 3 rd time doing this treatment , all my prior office never charge me. However this office does . Terrible patient service and support
The doctors and nurses are great but not all of the cycle coordinators are nice or even helpful. I found myself having many questions and my cycle coordinator was MIA or just failed to communicate important info to me.
Caring and kind staff, amazing lab and excellent doctors!! My husband and I are so grateful to Long Island IVF!! Our little girl recently celebrated her first birthday!! There are no words....Thank you Long Island IVF!
Everything with this place is a mess, its has been 3 months Im asking fr my medical records! Only 1 person is on charge od this,.its ridiculous! Something so simple and they even want you to pay for it, each page cost!
They wont let you wait in the waiting room.. if your partner is doing the procedure.. very bad attitude from the front desk.. inhumane this dumps... hard to wait outside on a humid day
Poor service... Worked with this place for 2 to 3 yrs.... Failed IUI and IVF pregnancy a number of times without any deep dive or testing to fully understand why...Few months ago we switched to NYU Langone and the service/answers provided has been a complete 180
Dr. Dicken was excellent and answered all of my questions.
RMA is great especially Sharon and Dr. K.
Terrible responsiveness. Dont seem to realize this is really important and really stressful to people. Its a shame.
Mary Lou C and the gang are great.
Great place super clean, free coffee,
Same regimen. Same results
Staff was quick
